It's quite strange really that today is the day that we leave the UK for two months. Today is a day that has seemed a long way off for a while. All of the working and planning throughout the year all culminates into this. Everything appears to be packed. Emma decided to unpack and repack her bag several times which has not helped the situation overly... BUT she is ready!
Three flights and then we'll be in Quito. Destination number one. The excitement is real. The first accommodation was booked two days ago - talk about leaving it late. I thought that I'd lost my yellow fever certificate, however thanks to hours of frantic searching yesterday it was eventually located. Without the yellow fever certificate, it would be highly unlikely that I would be allowed in the country - woops.
I will hopefully be able to update this in a couple of days with some pictures of what I'm sure is the delightful Quito.
For the majority of this trip I have deliberately avoided looking at many, if not even any pictures of the destinations of where we are going in the thought that the sights will just hit me and overwhelm me.
